    Shift: AM & PM | Pay Rate: $17-$19/hr


    SUMMARY DESCRIPTION:

    The Production Lead assures that our customers are getting a product that meets all of the specifications and quality standards that have been developed for the product and that we are  following all of the procedural guidelines set by the company or its customers. The Production Lead is responsible for the safe, timely production and packaging of all assigned  products while maintaining product quality, production efficiency and cost standards.  


    ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS  

    • Reviews assigned pick lists, has material pulled for work orders and reviews those sufficient  quantities are available to complete the work order 4 to 24 hours before the Work Order is due  to go on the line.  

    • Motivates employees to complete Work Orders correctly the first time to avoid re-work. • Walk the production line reviewing each workstation and worker to ensure that the Product  Specification, Quality Standards and Production Goals are being met. 

    • Reviews and hands in all Work Order History Folders and related documentation in a timely  manner 

    • Monitor, audit and enforce good manufacturing practices within the department. • Review their own Job Description on a weekly basis to make sure that they are meeting  responsibilities of their job. 

    • Turn off all equipment, machinery, and lights at the end of the day and ensure that the  department is properly secured. 

    • Print labels and any Work Order documents needed for daily production. 


    PERFORMANCE EXPECTATIONS  

    • Manage multiple production lines per area as designated by supervisor or manager. • Be responsible for the timely completion of assigned Work Orders to ensure adequate  inventory to meet our shipping requirements. 

    • Be responsible for following all Standard Operating Procedures and Good Manufacturing  Practices applicable to the department. 

    • Be responsible for the timely completion of all forms needed to document all SOP’s applicable  to the department. 

    • Must provide complete, reliable, and prompt information to managers and other team  members. 

    • Set production standards by personal example. 

    • Be responsible for reporting any injuries, unsafe equipment or safety violations to the  supervisor and manager. 

    • Preforms miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned.  

      

    This position reports to the department Supervisor and is a line position with direct authority to stop  production if it is found that Quality Standards or Operating Procedures are not being followed. 

    The position closely collaborates with Purchasing, Marketing, Shipping, Warehouse, Production  Planning and the Lab. 


    EDUCATION  

    High School diploma or equivalent.  

      

    WORK EXPERIENCE  

    • Experience working in a GMP environment preferred 

    • Excellent written and verbal communication 

    • Strong problem-solving abilities 

    • 3 years’ experience in the manufacturing industry preferred 

      

    OTHER QUALIFICATIONS  

    • Ability to investigate and analyze information and to draw conclusions. 

    • PC Computer skills – including Word, Excel and in house programs. 

    • Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing. 

    • Ability to create reports. 

    • Ability to make evaluative judgments. 

    • Knowledge of quality control practices. 

    • Ability to motivate employees and create a Team spirit with a “yes we can” attitude.   


    SPECIAL DEMANDS  

    • Physical stamina to withstand eight or more hours on feet. Kneeling, crouching, climbing and  working at heights.  

    • This position requires the ability to lift a minimum of 50 lbs. 

    • Working Conditions - Exposure to hazards of an industrial environment including noise, dust  wet wash down areas, hazardous materials, machinery and lift equipment.
