Production Scheduler develops, prepares, and maintains production schedules to guide the production activities and resources that achieve maximum efficiency and meet output and timeline objectives. Gathers data from internal teams to incorporate materials, inventories, resource availability, and delivery commitments into schedules. Being a Production Scheduler monitors daily production results and revises scheduling responsive to changes in the flow of materials, designs, equipment, or other resources. Utilizes ERP systems, planning and scheduling software, or other database tools to develop and maintain master schedules and generate reporting. The Macon plant was built in 1967. It manufactures egg cartons, lunch trays, and shake trays. The Macon plant has approximately 218 employees. Macon was awarded World-Class Safety in 2014, 2015, 2016, and 2017. Macon also received the Operational Performance Plant of the year in 2015 and 2016 and Food Plant of the Year in 2016. The Macon plant has recently reached out to the Middle Georgia Community Food Bank and will be collecting canned and dried goods for the less fortunate.
Job purpose
The Supply Chain Manager is responsible ensure that the production and purchase orders are properly scheduled to meet customer needs and requests.
Duties and responsibilities
The primary job duties and responsibilities are:
· Schedules and coordinates smooth flow of customer orders across five production lines.
· Monitors inventory levels, including proper build of inventory during off-peak periods.
· Orders and maintains levels of UPC labels and skid tickets needed for production orders.
· Maintains copies of all visuals in file so they can be attached to production orders for correct print setup and maintenance during production runs.
· Works with management to organize schedule changes due to back logs, design changes, or customer request.
· Maintain and publish Monthly Production Schedule Report.
· Organize Weekly Scheduling Review Meeting.
· Coordinates work schedule and workload of Plate Room Technician
· Maintains effective communication with operators and plant supervision.
· Maintain excellent housekeeping standards to maintain a safe work area.
· Maintains excellent safety record.
· Maintains excellent attendance record.
· Performs other duties as assigned.
Experience
Experience required:
· At least two (2) years of experience working in a manufacturing or warehouse facility.
· Demonstrated self-compliance with company policies and procedures.
Skills
An individual must have the following skills in the Production Scheduler position:
· Ability to work safely and to communicate with others in a professional manner.
· Proficient in basic computer operation and data entry; some experience with Microsoft Office, including Microsoft Teams, and SAP.
· Organized.
· Able to handle multiple tasks.
· Must have good written and verbal communication skills.
· Self-Directed.
· Proactively identifies and resolves discrepancies or potential issues.
· Detail orientated.
· Able to prioritize tasks assigned.
Physical requirements
This position is located in a manufacturing location. Physical requirements will include but are not limited to:
· Standing for lengthy periods of time (frequent)
· Sitting for extended periods of time (frequent)
· Climbing up/down stairs/ladders/platforms (occasional)
· Working in a manufacturing environment that includes periods of hot and cold weather, dust, noise above 85 dBA, occasional odors, and moving equipment (occasional)
Working conditions
An individual that works in the Production Scheduler position:
· Must be available for on-call requests.
