Production Scheduler Manager manages the development, preparation, and maintenance of production schedules to guide the production activities and resources that achieve maximum efficiency and meet output and timeline objectives. Collaborates with internal teams to assess and incorporate materials, inventories, resource availability, and delivery commitments into schedules. Being a Production Scheduler Manager monitors production progress and develops revised scheduling responsive to changes in the flow of materials, designs, equipment, or other resources. Utilizes ERP systems, planning and scheduling software, or other database tools to develop and maintain master schedules. Additionally, Production Scheduler Manager requires a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to a director. The Production Scheduler Manager manages subordinate staff in the day-to-day performance of their jobs. True first level manager. Ensures that project/department milestones/goals are met and adhering to approved budgets. Has full authority for personnel actions.     Job Overview: Responsible for directing, training, and scheduling assembly associates in an efficient manner for the desired quality and quantity of work.

    The Production Manager has primary responsibility for production operations, integration of new product development and setting high standards for productivity improvements. The Production Manager will provide leadership to a team of production leads, technical staff, and production team members to deliver world results in the areas of safety, quality, delivery, and cost. This position will work closely with all plant personnel in achieving the Company objectives of Safety, Quality, Service and Cost. This position will demonstrate strong leadership and excellent communication skills.


    SUPERISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

    This position supervises approximately 75 employees. Must follow company policies and procedures.


    ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

    • Plan production activities toward the accomplishment of Company objectives. Identifies and recommends production objectives and assists with selection of capital investment plans.
    • Develops methods of improvements in current production practices to promote efficiency and lower costs.
    • Provide leadership to an operations team of supervisors, technical staff and production team members to deliver business results in the areas of safety, quality, delivery, and cost.
    • Coach/mentor for Supervisors, Team Leads, and operations staff. Develop a pipeline of talent to meet the future needs of the business.
    • Coordinates the activities of the production group to best utilize personnel. Provides training for departmental personnel and assists in the selection of employees. Authorizes overtime and conducts performance evaluations.
    • Work collaboratively with customer service, supply chain, purchasing and other production departments to reach business goals.
    • Key team member works collaboratively with other departments for smooth production launches.
    • Direct the production of wire harnesses and assemblies efficiently within established specifications for quality and volume, with an emphasis on employee safety.
    • Provides guidance in the resolution of employee conflicts and recommends corrective action when necessary.
    • Reviews and recommends changes to master production schedule to best enhance productivity.
    • Coordinates studies and projects for improvements in processes, equipment, and cost reductions.
    • Maintains compliance with government regulations, company policy, safety standards, and good housekeeping practices.
    • Assists in the development of long-range goals and objectives.


    KEY EXPERIENCES:

    • A seasoned and knowledgeable manufacturing background who has led in manufacturing production environments. Deep Lean Manufacturing skillsets with proven results. Has built cultures based on continuous improvement, benchmarking and employee engagement.
    • Prefer experience and background in assembly operations.
    • Previous shop floor and/or technical leadership/supervisory experience.
    • Strong management, leadership and problem-solving skills required.
    • Ability to read/interpret schematic drawings; ability to follow schedules; knowledge of and ability to apply quality control standards, safety requirements, provisions of the company rules; ability to overcome immediate and long-range problems; ability to communicate effectively; ability to provide leadership and employ strong human relation skills.
    • Lean and/or Six Sigma certification a plus.
    • Excellent organizational and communication skills.
    • Proficiency with keyboarding and MS Office skills required.
    • Knowledge of ERP systems preferred.


    PHYSICAL DEMANDS: Must be able to sit at the desk and move around the shop most of the day. Must be able to keyboard and perform other repetitive tasks. Must be able to lift up to 25 pounds occasionally.
