Primary Purpose

• While acting as the primary liaison between Supply Chain and Plant Operations, plan and control all scheduling activities supporting one or multiple facilities. Balance production with demand to support consistent customer service level targets, inventory turn goals and capacity utilization/staffing requirements. Develops feasible 13-week master production schedules for finished goods and component items based on capacity requirements. Provide daily bucketed schedules by SKU to manufacturing and purchasing and install production compliance metrics to measure performance. Lead efforts to install standard processes for the Master Production Scheduling function. Deliverables range across short and long-term planning, supply chain process improvements, material waste/downtime reduction and implementation of lean principles and tools.

Key Accountabilities

• Production Planning: Manages the day to day and week to week production schedule. Collaborates internally and externally with key shareholders to develop production schedules that meet demand forecasts. Optimize production processes to ensure efficient resource utilization. Analyze production yield, material usage, and material loss data to understand customer/material impacts. Analyze actual and theoretical run rates to optimize production schedule. Maximize production efficiency through change to current planning processes which will result in reduced changeovers, machine downtime and downtime due to raw materials/component shortages. Has ownership of daily and weekly tasks such as daily Attainment Report, Capacity Tool, Bridge Forecast vs. Actual, Labor Review with Operations, and maintaining current Shop Order Process. Leads weekly scheduling meeting. Presents proposed upcoming schedule that captures understanding of other department’s priorities while keeping focus on the customer’s requirements.
• Inventory Coordination: Work closely with inventory management to ensure that raw materials, ingredients, and finished goods align with production schedules. Minimize excess inventory while preventing stockouts.
• Resource Allocation: Allocate labor, equipment, and materials efficiently to meet production goals. Coordinate with relevant departments to ensure all necessary resources are available.
• Scheduling Software Utilization: Utilize scheduling software and tools to streamline the planning process and improve accuracy. Stay informed about advancements in production scheduling technology. Communication: Communicate production schedules and changes effectively to production teams, management, and other relevant stakeholders. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to align production schedules with overall business objectives.
• Capacity Planning: Monitor production capacities and constraints, adjusting schedules as needed to optimize resource utilization. Conduct regular capacity assessments to ensure alignment with production goals. Quality Control Integration: Coordinate with quality control teams to ensure that production schedules adhere to quality standards. Address and resolve any scheduling conflicts that may impact product quality.
• Timeline Management: Ensure that production schedules meet specified timelines and deadlines. Collaborate with relevant departments to address and resolve delays promptly.
• Continuous Improvement: Identify opportunities for process optimization and efficiency improvements within the production scheduling process. Implement best practices to enhance overall production performance.
• Data Analysis: Utilize production data and analytics to track performance, identify trends, and make informed decisions. Provide insights to management for strategic decision-making.
• Adaptability: Adjust production schedules quickly in response to changes in customer demand, inventory levels, or other factors affecting production.
