Production Scheduler Supervisor supervises the development, preparation, and maintenance of production schedules to guide the production activities and resources that achieve maximum efficiency and meet output and timeline objectives. Coordinates with internal teams to assess and incorporate materials, inventories, resource availability, and delivery commitments into schedules. Being a Production Scheduler Supervisor monitors daily production results and develops revised scheduling responsive to changes in the flow of materials, designs, equipment, or other resources. Utilizes ERP systems, planning and scheduling software, or other database tools to develop and maintain master schedules and generate reporting. Additionally, Production Scheduler Supervisor requires a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to a manager. The Production Scheduler Supervisor supervises a group of primarily para-professional level staffs. May also be a level above a supervisor within high volume administrative/ production environments. Makes day-to-day decisions within or for a group/small department. Has some authority for personnel actions. To be a Production Scheduler Supervisor typically requires 3-5 years experience in the related area as an individual contributor. Thorough knowledge of functional area and department processes.     We currently are hiring a Production Scheduler that is responsible for the scheduling of customer orders for production using capacity planning tools. Support the purchasing of raw material as needed to support schedule working closely with Corporate Supply Chain. Working with Operations in conjunction with Supply Chain Manager to identify inventory levels and maintain material master.

    The salary for this role is between $60000 - $70000 / year.

    Production Scheduler Job Responsibilities:

    Planning
    • Review orders to set up schedule for the following week. 
    • Review orders and production on a daily basis to adjust schedule as needed.
    • Create and maintain Process Orders
      • Create Work Order Packets & Distribute to production
    • Set up schedule for when fruit needs to be delivered to the plant taking into account when product will be produced and thaw times.
    • Maintain appropriate levels of raw materials and fruit to ensure no disruption in production.
    • Daily checks of raw material and fruit. 
    • Collect dump reports and adjust raw material inventory as needed.
    • Coordinate physical inventories and daily checks when necessary.
    • Work with R & D in setting up trials.
    • Work with Quality to be aware of product put on hold and rework so that schedule can be modified appropriately if needed.
    • Schedule and monitor rework to maximize rework usage.
    • Communicate with Customer Service about any issues in making the orders on time.
    • Communicate schedule and schedule changes to all relevant people and departments.
    • Monitor schedule attainment and other performance indicators.
      • Should we not be meeting goals work with supervisors in identifying reasons why and what can be done to correct and improve.    
    • Look for ways to improve scheduling process for both production and raw materials.
    • Provided requested information and reports on schedule to Plant Manager and others as needed.
    • Perform other duties as assigned by Supply Chain Manager. 
    Purchasing Support
    • Input purchase order information into computer.  Distribute purchase orders as needed.
    • Support ordering of raw materials.  Release sugar and raw materials as directed by Corporate Supply Chain.
    • Oversee receiver information and distribute.
    • Run daily raw material report needed for production.  Adjust for substitutions as needed.
    • Maintain appropriate levels of raw materials and fruit to ensure no disruption in production.
    • Work with Corporate resources to identify price issues and correct.
    • Contact of vendors when COA’s are not received with shipments.
    • Review Obsolete or outdated materials.
    • Perform other duties as assigned by Supply Chain Manager. 

    Production Scheduler Job Requirements:
    • Associate degree required, in Accounting, Business or applicable field.
    • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Business or applicable field a plus.
    • 3-5 years’ experience in Scheduling, Planning, Capacity Planning
    • 3-5 years’ experience in SAP in PP and MM module, or like planning system
    • 1-2 years’ experience in buying and/or purchasing a plus.
    • Proficient in Microsoft Excel and Word
