Production Scheduler Supervisor supervises the development, preparation, and maintenance of production schedules to guide the production activities and resources that achieve maximum efficiency and meet output and timeline objectives. Coordinates with internal teams to assess and incorporate materials, inventories, resource availability, and delivery commitments into schedules. Being a Production Scheduler Supervisor monitors daily production results and develops revised scheduling responsive to changes in the flow of materials, designs, equipment, or other resources. Utilizes ERP systems, planning and scheduling software, or other database tools to develop and maintain master schedules and generate reporting. Additionally, Production Scheduler Supervisor requires a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to a manager. The Production Scheduler Supervisor supervises a group of primarily para-professional level staffs. May also be a level above a supervisor within high volume administrative/ production environments. Makes day-to-day decisions within or for a group/small department. Has some authority for personnel actions. To be a Production Scheduler Supervisor typically requires 3-5 years experience in the related area as an individual contributor. Thorough knowledge of functional area and department processes. VPJob Title: Production SupervisorDepartment: ProductionSummary Directs and coordinates activities of production department(s) in processing materials or manufacturing products in industrial organization by performing the following duties personally or through subordinate supervisors.Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. - Reviews production and operating reports and resolves operational, manufacturing, and maintenance problems to ensure minimum costs and prevent operational delays.
- Develops or revises standard operational and working practices and observes workers to ensure compliance with standards.
- Resolves worker grievances or submits unsettled grievances to Production Superintendent for action.
- Compiles, stores, and retrieves production data.
- Oversee the daily operations of production departments including, but not limited to machining, assembly and/or welding, etc.
- Conduct employee training on equipment operations or work and safety procedures
- Work with other departments to drive continuous improvement efforts and reduce costs
- Adjust the production plan in time according to changes in the demand plan
- Maintain production schedules in department to ensure timely delivery of customer products
- Completes production plan by scheduling and assigning personnel; accomplishing work results; establishing priorities; monitoring progress; revising schedules; resolving problems; reporting results of the processing flow on shift production summaries.
- Schedule personnel based on current work load and skill availability to best utilize skills and machines
- Coordinate activities between shifts
- Enforce the company policies regarding safety, quality, productivity and discipline
- Resolves personnel problems by investigating issues; identifying solutions; recommending action. Resolve employee issues through problem resolution.
- Support Kaizen and other continuous improvement activities
