Production Scheduler Supervisor supervises the development, preparation, and maintenance of production schedules to guide the production activities and resources that achieve maximum efficiency and meet output and timeline objectives. Coordinates with internal teams to assess and incorporate materials, inventories, resource availability, and delivery commitments into schedules. Being a Production Scheduler Supervisor monitors daily production results and develops revised scheduling responsive to changes in the flow of materials, designs, equipment, or other resources. Utilizes ERP systems, planning and scheduling software, or other database tools to develop and maintain master schedules and generate reporting. Additionally, Production Scheduler Supervisor requires a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to a manager. The Production Scheduler Supervisor supervises a group of primarily para-professional level staffs. May also be a level above a supervisor within high volume administrative/ production environments. Makes day-to-day decisions within or for a group/small department. Has some authority for personnel actions. To be a Production Scheduler Supervisor typically requires 3-5 years experience in the related area as an individual contributor. Thorough knowledge of functional area and department processes. Specific Job Duties :
Creates schedules for Molding, Assembly, Waterjets and develops plans to ensure efficient utilization of all capital machinery.
Works with the appropriate people, across three shifts, to ensure the projects are progressing as planned. Maintains a master schedule for the plant including die change schedule.
Assists in resolving schedule conflicts between projects and flags schedule concerns.
Review inventory levels and trends with respect to known circumstances. Formulate and implement plans to adjust these as appropriate.
Maintain all material control systems including Kanban, JIT delivery and material scheduling. A thorough understanding of customer demand, EDI, Ship Schedules and Outside Processing is necessary.
Be well informed as to production capabilities, new product entry, potential product possibilities, impending process or technological needs of our customers.
Use and distribute this information to plan for future needs and assist others in determining their needs.
Calculate capacity utilization for the Molding Plant and interpret the results of these calculations into generalize operating plans.
Changes in equipment and operation suggested by these plans must be distributed to those Managers who might be affected.
