    Job Title: Production Supervisor
    Department: Production
     
    Summary Directs and coordinates activities of production department(s) in processing materials or manufacturing products in industrial organization by performing the following duties personally or through subordinate supervisors.
     
    Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
    • Reviews production and operating reports and resolves operational, manufacturing, and maintenance problems to ensure minimum costs and prevent operational delays.
    • Develops or revises standard operational and working practices and observes workers to ensure compliance with standards.
    • Resolves worker grievances or submits unsettled grievances to Production Superintendent for action.
    • Compiles, stores, and retrieves production data.
    • Oversee the daily operations of production departments including, but not limited to machining, assembly and/or welding, etc.
    • Conduct employee training on equipment operations or work and safety procedures
    • Work with other departments to drive continuous improvement efforts and reduce costs
    • Adjust the production plan in time according to changes in the demand plan
    • Maintain production schedules in department to ensure timely delivery of customer products
    • Completes production plan by scheduling and assigning personnel; accomplishing work results; establishing priorities; monitoring progress; revising schedules; resolving problems; reporting results of the processing flow on shift production summaries.
    • Schedule personnel based on current work load and skill availability to best utilize skills and machines
    • Coordinate activities between shifts
    • Enforce the company policies regarding safety, quality, productivity and discipline
    • Resolves personnel problems by investigating issues; identifying solutions; recommending action. Resolve employee issues through problem resolution.
    • Support Kaizen and other continuous improvement activities

    Education and/or Experience
    Bachelor's degree (B. A.) from four-year college or university; or one to two years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
     
    Reasoning Ability
    Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.  Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
