    Description

    The Production Supervisor is responsible for overseeing the daily activities of our production team to ensure production targets are met on time within quality, safety, and cost parameters. The Production Supervisor is responsible for developing and leading a team of production team leads, operators, and technicians whilst promoting a culture of continuous improvement and teamwork.

    • Supervise staff to manufacture products and organize and monitor workflow.
    • Accomplish manufacturing results by:
    • Communicating job expectations
    • Planning, monitoring, and appraising job results
    • Coaching, counseling, and disciplining employees
    • Coordinating and enforcing systems, policies, and procedures.
    • Maintain workflow by monitoring and recommending upgrades to processes, enforcing processing variables, monitoring personnel and resources, and initiating and fostering a spirit of cooperation within and between departments.
    • Complete production plan by coordinating schedules and assigning personnel, accomplishing work results, establishing priorities, monitoring progress, and resolving problems.
    • Maintain manufacturing information by compiling, initiating, sorting, and analyzing production performance records and data.
    • Research and negotiate with vendors and suppliers to improve efficiency of processes and reduce unnecessary costs.
    • Maintain a safe and clean work environment by educating and directing personnel on the use of all control points, equipment, and resources, and maintaining compliance with established policies and procedures.
    • Resolve personnel problems by analyzing data, investigating issues, identifying solutions, and recommending action.
    • Adhere to the principles of Kaizen, Lean Manufacturing, and other continuous improvement techniques to optimize production.
    • Monitor production processes to optimize production efficiency, quality, and safety.
    • Assist in identifying opportunities for improving production efficiency, quality, and safety, and collaborate with the production, quality, and the engineering teams to implement and evaluate these improvements.
    • Ensure the staffing levels and production schedules are aligned with customer demand and production targets.
    • Ensure compliance with safety regulations, quality standards, and company policies, including those outlined in OSHA 29 CFR 1910, ISO 9001:2015, and the Compotech Employee Handbook.
    • Actively participate in maintaining a safe and efficient work environment.
    • Identify and report any potential safety hazards, adhering to safety protocols, and participate in safety trainings.
    • Monitor inventory levels and collaborate with Office Manager or Director of Operations to ensure that materials and components are available as needed.
    • Lead, coach and develop a team of production team leads, operators, and technicians ensuring that all members have the necessary skills, trainings, and resources to perform the duties of their jobs effectively.
    • Ensure compliance with company policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements.
    • Promote a culture of continuous improvement, safety, and teamwork among the production team.
    • Provides constructive and timely performance evaluations.
    • Ensures that products are received, identified, and warehoused correctly.
    • Troubleshoots issues that arise.
    • Notifies maintenance department of equipment problems and assist with repairs as necessary.
    • Ensures paperwork is completed and signed correctly.

    • Performs other related duties as assigned.
    • Strong knowledge of production processes, quality control, and safety protocols.
    • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, leadership, and team building skills.
    • Experience with lean manufacturing, Six Sigma, or other continuous improvement methodologies preferred.
    • Ability to analyze data, identify trends, and implement improvements.
    • Strong problem solving and analytical skills.
    • Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines.
    • Ability to prioritize tasks and to delegate them when appropriate.
    • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software to complete reports and logs.
    • Ability to work independently and as part of a team to set and coordinate priorities and manage multiple projects to meet internal and external competing deadlines; ability to work under pressure. Flexibility to meet changing needs and priorities.
    • Must be a US Citizen

    Education and Experience:
    • High school diploma or equivalent required, AS or BS preferred.
    • Prior supervisory experience required.

    Physical Requirements:
    • Must be able to traverse the production facility.
    • Must be able to lift 50 pounds at a time.
