3rd shift position available
JOB SUMMARY:
Responsible for leading a shift including full accountability for results in terms of methods, quality and quantity of production, operations, and personnel. Able to learn the technical aspects of window film manufacturing and the overall process. Promote a work environment that is positive, safe, that seeks to continuously improve, and is focused on meeting the goals and objectives of the organization.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Analyzes quality and production data to determine process capabilities, trends, drifts, and shifts. Recommends solutions and implements controls to reduce variation.

Initiates preventative actions to prevent quality problems before they occur. Participates and contributes to continuous improvement activities. Consistently seeks out areas for improvement, recommends improvement, and implements solutions.

Understands and conveys the goals, objectives, and focus of the organization. Assures that activities are aligned with the purpose of meeting these objectives.

Plan and lays-out work, assign, instruct, direct, and assist employees.

Establishes work procedures to meet production schedules, using knowledge of capabilities of machines, personnel, and equipment.

Has the authority to stop or modify the work process on non-conforming products or services per Quality Manual-Management Responsibility and Authority. Seeks assistant through the help chain when needed.

Maintain discipline, morale, and harmonious personnel relations, address primary concerns.
-
Maintenance of time reporting for employees.
-
Provide employee training and compliance with company safety procedures, personal protective equipment requirements and OSHA requirements.

Maintain equipment, work areas, and eliminate potential safety hazards. Uses tools such as 6S and lean manufacturing to increase organization and reduce waste. Will preform GEMBA walks during the shift change.

Responsible for hazardous waste management in accordance with Federal, State, and local regulations. Attend company provided annual Haz-Com and Haz-Waste Training
ADDITIONAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Learn all processes that pertain to the Coating and Laminating department.

Establishes a training program within the tiered system to grow and develop the staff.
-
Participates in training programs and assists in training employees within the production departments.
-
Participates in projects as assigned by the Production Manager, Director of Operations, or Senior Management.

Ability to become a forklift certified operator.
-
Flexibility to assist with production leadership which may include some off shift scheduling.
MANAGEMENT SYSTEM (IMS) RESPONSIBILITIES:
-
Improve work processes.
-
Provide input and verify that documented procedures are adequate and accurate and in support of achievement of the strategy.
-
Understand the IMS policy and how it applies.
-
Keep records and data on pertinent business outcomes.
-
Participate in internal audits.
-
Participate in ongoing process improvement.
-
Participate in external registration and surveillance audits.
-
Directly support methods and practices of the IMS Process through personal compliance and visible support actions.

Support CSR activities
DESIRED MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
-
High school diploma or general education degree (GED) required.
-
A bachelor’s degree in engineering may be used as a substitute for prior experience.
-
Two to three years’ experience in Coating and Laminating or similar manufacturing experience required.
-
Trained in Hazard Communications and Hazardous Material Operations Level.
SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS:
-
Ability to read, analyze, and interpret common scientific and technical literature. Ability to effectively disseminate information via e-mail, reports, and presentations. Ability to speak effectively before groups of employees within the organization.

Ability to work with high school level mathematics including addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, fractions, decimals, and units of measure conversions. Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.

Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to solve production problems by drawing upon past experiences, scientific concepts, and practical reasoning. Ability to solve problems.
TOOLS AND EQUIPMENT USED:
-
Ability to effectively use standard office programs such as Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, Adobe Acrobat. Ability to analyze data and produce charts and graphs using statistical software. Ability to prepare memos, manuals, reports, presentations, forms, etc. using standard software packages.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to use hands to finger, handle, or feel and talk or hear. The employee is frequently required to stand, talk, walk, and sit. The employee is occasionally required to reach with hands and arms. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move 100 pounds. Specific vision required by this job includes close vision, color vision, and the ability to adjust focus.
WORK ENVIRONMENT:

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently exposed to fumes or airborne particles and toxic or caustic chemicals. The employee is occasional exposed to moving mechanical parts and risks of ultra-violet radiation. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
