Responsible for the day to day operations of OR; PACU; G.I. Lab; ASC and SPD Services. Plans, directs, coordinates and evaluates the overall administrative functions within the department(s). Responsible for the fiscal, material and human resource management including the budget. Participates in the development and implementation of hospital policies and regulatory standards. Maintains current knowledge of regulatory changes/updates. Maintains open communication with staff to promote improvement in performance. This position requires a sound knowledge of nursing practices, evidence base practices and leadership abilities.
Graduate from an accredited school of nursing; Bachelors degree required; Masters degree preferred. Currently licensed as a professional nurse in the State of California. Five years of clinical experience in Surgical Services, including experience in patient care management. Minimum 5 years recent experience in acute care. Two (2) years progressive experience in a management position. Demonstrated leadership abilities; able to work under stressful situations. Possesses both good oral and written communication skills. Demonstrated interpersonal relationships in a manner which enhances communication, promotes conflict resolution and facilitates staff development. Skills and knowledge to sustain and evaluate clinical competence in caring for the specific age and type of patient population served. Certificates: Basic Life Support (BLS); Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS); Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS).
BSN Required, MSN preferred. 5 Years Clinical Experience. 2 Years Mgmt Experience. RN License. BLS, ACLS, PALS and NIHSS.
