Responsibilities:
The Acquisitions and Accounting Coordinator is responsible for processing all purchasing requests, including generating purchase requisitions and submitting properly coded invoices for the purchase of library materials and supplies for three Library Services units; (2) develop relationships with vendors in order to process regular and special requests from all academic departments for the purchase of books and audiovisual materials to be added to the Library and IRC collections; (3) use standard accounting practices to record expenditures and credits for each budget line item, to track book/audiovisual allocation expenditures for each academic department, the acquisition of electronic resources, and to exercise budget and inventory control. In addition, this position assists with the processing of library materials. Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
A bachelors degree in business administration or related field and (1) excellent oral, interpersonal and written communication skills; (2) proficiency in Word and Excel; (3) ability to handle multiple tasks while working in a changing environment; and (4) capability to plan and budget time wisely, take initiative and be detail-oriented.An accounting degree or accounting related work experience.
