POSITION TITLE: Accounting Specialist
Reports to the Controller
POSITION CONCEPT
To assist the Controller in daily operations of the Accounting Department.
POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES
The Accounting Specialist will:
1. Prepare all Day Hab Medicaid billing and other billing activities as designated.
2. Prepare all Reshab/Respite billing and other billing activities as designated.
3. Prepare all Transportation billing and other billing activities as designated.
4. Prepare and maintain cash receipts.
5. Maintain and reconcile monthly and annually program subsidiary ledgers of accounts receivable and corresponding revenue.
6. Maintain all applicable agency contracts.
7. Prepare, enter and maintain all applicable journal entries.
8. Assist with training of Accounts Receivable staff.
9. Assist other accounting management in whatever capacity necessary to keep accounting functions timely and accurate.
10. Protects organization’s value by keeping information confidential.
11. Attend staff meetings as directed by management.
12. Act in any other capacity as directed by the Controller
POSITION QUALIFICATIONS
An Associated Degree in Accounting, with one year of experience or a high school diploma with courses in bookkeeping/accounting, and three to five years of experience. Working knowledge of computerized accounting systems required.
