Being a Professor - Architecture provides tutoring and academic counseling to students, maintains classes related records, and assesses student coursework. Collaborates and supports colleagues regarding research interests and co-curricular activities. Additionally, Professor - Architecture typically reports to a department head. Requires a PhD or terminal degree appropriate to the field. Has considerable experience and is qualified to teach at undergraduate and graduate levels and initiates research and case studies in field of interest and may publish findings in trade journals or textbooks. Provides intellectual leadership and has made significant contributions to the field. May offer independent study opportunities and mentoring to students.     The ideal applicant is highly motivated, organized, and has a professional, energetic attitude. The candidate possesses the ability to work as part of a team to create innovative design solutions. The candidate should have experience working on a wide range of projects: walkways, patios, pools, water features, retaining walls, etc. However, motivated and talented recent graduates are encouraged to apply as well!

    A passion for plants and horticulture is highly desirable, as we strive to include new plant introductions, natives, and uncommon ornamentals, in our designs.

    Primary and Essential Responsibilities:

    • Create unique and functional designs
    • Collaborate with team on project details and deadlines
    • Produce project graphics and renderings
    • Update and manage design schedule
    • Develop job estimates/proposals
    • Produce construction documents and permit drawings
    • Communicate with clients at all stages of the project (CRM)
    • Procure plant and hardscape materials

    Desired Qualifications:

    • A degree in Landscape Architecture, Design or other related field preferred, professional experience will be considered in lieu of degree.
    • Experience with Vectorworks, Adobe Suite, Sketchup and Microsoft Office preferred
    • An understanding of built structures
    • Familiarity with plant material, construction, and residential garden design and installation
    • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
    • Strong organization skills
    • The ability to multi-task, and work in a fast-paced environment
    • Problem-solving skills
    • Ability to produce freehand graphics a plus
    • A minimum of 2-3 years’ experience in design/build industry (preferred)
    • Knowledge of local regulations including Critical Area is highly beneficial
