Professor - Architecture teaches courses in the discipline area of architecture. Develops and designs curriculum plans to foster student learning, stimulate class discussions, and ensures student engagement. Being a Professor - Architecture provides tutoring and academic counseling to students, maintains classes related records, and assesses student coursework. Collaborates and supports colleagues regarding research interests and co-curricular activities. Additionally, Professor - Architecture typically reports to a department head. Requires a PhD or terminal degree appropriate to the field. Has considerable experience and is qualified to teach at undergraduate and graduate levels and initiates research and case studies in field of interest and may publish findings in trade journals or textbooks. Provides intellectual leadership and has made significant contributions to the field. May offer independent study opportunities and mentoring to students.     Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

    • Participate in the development of proposals and interviews to obtain new work.
    • Oversee architectural production and delivery of design solutions throughout all phases of a project (including new facilities, additions or remodels).
    • Prepare specifications.
    • Perform code analysis.
    • Monitor budget to ensure the project is progressing in a cost effective and timely manner.
    • Keep up-to-date on new technologies, trends, and innovative best practices, and recommend changes and new services as appropriate.
    • Mentor junior staff in all facets of design.
    • Assist in maintaining existing client relationships and developing new business connections.

    Requirements:

    • Effectively juggle a variety of responsibilities, with a strong emphasis on organization and follow-up skills.
    • Collaborate efficiently in a team environment and work independently with supervision from our design staff.
    • Possess great interpersonal skills (listening, diplomacy, responsiveness).
    • Professionally communicate with the design team, clients, contractors, and consultants.
    • Be detail-oriented, self-motivated, and have a professional work ethic.
    • Be capable of independent thinking and possess creative abilities.

    Education:

    • Professional Degree in Architecture from an accredited school

    Experience:

    • 5 years of experience.
    • Advanced knowledge of architecture and design concepts, practices, and methods.
    • High level of creativity, innovative thinking, and problem solving.
    • Experience in Revit, SketchUp, Bluebeam, Lumion, and/or a similar rendering software.
    • Experience directing or coordinating work efforts of team members, including consultants and contractors.
    • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
    • Collaborative and professional work ethic.
    • Must be a licensed architect.
