Summary:

Instructor in Biology will teach a full course load of lower level biology courses and mentor and advise undergraduate biology majors.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Teach Principles / General biology lecture and lab, as well as lower level biology courses for majors and non-majors.
• Mentor and advice undergraduate students.
• Support undergraduate research opportunities.
• Participate in course, curriculum, and program development.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

?Minimum Position Requirements (including certifications, license, etc.):

• Master's degree in Biology or a related discipline.
• Must have the ability/credentialing to teach general biology and introductory biology courses at undergraduate level.
• Must have the ability to teach day, evening and/or Saturday classes.
• Experience managing and maintaining computer systems.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

• Teaching experience at the college level.
• Expertise in Biology teaching.
• Experience in mentoring students
• Knowable of academic advisement process.
• Interest in active and collaborative learning.
• Ability in the instructional use of technology.
• Skills in hybrid and online teaching experience is an advantage.

SALARY:

The salary for each position is based on the grade/tier in which the position is placed, and the salary within the grade/tier is based on the number of years of related experience or number of years in the hiring rank.
