    Position Summary
    The primary location of this position is on the main Cullowhee, NC campus.

    This is a nine-month fixed-term position at the rank of Assistant or Associate Professor of Practice. Rank will be determined at point of hire. Responsibilities include teaching; advising; course and curriculum development; engagement with regional business and industry; a commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion; and other service duties as assigned. Scholarship opportunities are available for the candidates who are interested in pursuing them. Anticipated start date is January 2024. Review of applications will begin immediately and will continue until a candidate has been selected for hire.

    Applicants will teach at the undergraduate level in one or more of the following areas:
    • Digital and Computer Systems, and Embedded Control
    • Analog and Digital Communications
    • Robotics, Automation, and PLCs
    • Signal Processing
    • Electromagnetics
    • Power Systems, Electric Machines, Power Electronics

    Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities Required for this Position
    Minimum Qualifications
    Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a closely-related field is required prior to the starting date.
    Preferred Qualifications
    A Doctor of Philosophy degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a closely-related field is preferred. Three years or more of relevant industry experience, or documented equivalent, are preferred. Teaching experiences at the college level, including lab courses, are preferred.

    Applicants with laboratory and practical experiences are highly desirable. Applicants with experience in more than one area of need will be reviewed favorably.
