Professor - Chemical Engineering teaches courses in the discipline area of chemical engineering. Requires a PhD or terminal degree appropriate to the field. Has considerable experience and is qualified to teach at undergraduate and graduate levels and initiates research and case studies in field of interest and may publish findings in trade journals or textbooks. Provides intellectual leadership and has made significant contributions to the field. May offer independent study opportunities and mentoring to students. We are seeking a talented, hands-on R&D chemical/mechanical engineer to contribute to a diverse set of energy and sustainability programs involving such topics as: thermochemical biofuel production, chemical monitoring, air purification, sensor development, wastewater recycling, clean biomass combustion, and gas-to-liquids conversion. We are interested in applicants at all degree levels with specific experience or interest in, but not limited to, any of the following areas:
- Design of bench-scale and pilot-scale reactor systems (especially thermochemical conversion processes)
- Mechanical experience; as would be used in the conception, design and fabrication of custom laboratory apparatus
- Hands-on experience in a chemical laboratory setting including instrumentation and wet-lab experience
- Chemical characterization techniques such as gas chromatography and spectroscopy
- Other areas include PLC and LabView programming, electronic systems assembly, experimental design, and instrumentation
- Job may also include rotations on product development teams for new chemical-related HVAC/R products
- We are looking for problem solvers who identify innovative solutions to real world problems; applicants must be self-motivated and able to work independently as well as in groups
Position Requirements
- B.S., M.S., or PhD in Chemical Engineering
- Work experience (0 - 5 years)
- U.S. Citizenship required due to US Government ITAR restrictions
- GPA > 3.3 at all degree levels
- Experience in a hands-on laboratory environment
- Mechanical aptitude for fabrication of custom laboratory apparatus
