    Job Description

    THE LINDA AND BIPIN DOSHI DEPARTMENT OF CHEMICAL AND BIOCHEMICAL ENGINEERING AT MISSOURI UNIVERSITY OF SCIENCE AND TECHNOLOGY (Missouri S&T) invites applications for a non-tenure-track (NTT) teaching position. While the position is primarily targeted at the assistant level, exceptional candidates could be considered at the associate level. As an Assistant Teaching Professor, you will be responsible for delivering high-quality, innovative, and engaging instruction to undergraduate and graduate students in the field of Chemical Engineering. This role primarily focuses on teaching and educational excellence, with opportunities for curriculum development and academic leadership.

    Candidates should hold a Ph.D. in Chemical or Biochemical Engineering or allied discipline from an accredited program. Applicants should have demonstrated teaching experience at the undergraduate or graduate level with excellence documented by a teaching portfolio or other supporting evidence. The successful candidate will have a strong expertise in the principles and practices of chemical engineering and a demonstrated commitment to excellence in teaching and a passion for student success. The candidate should have a proven ability to work collaboratively with faculty, staff, and students in an inclusive and diverse environment. Candidates should be familiar with process simulation software packages such as ChemCAD or AspenPLUS.

    Primary responsibilities will include teaching undergraduate and graduate courses including laboratory and design. The NTT faculty member should work with the department to develop and update course materials to ensure relevance and alignment with industry standards and advancements in the field. They will collaborate with faculty and participate in departmental meetings to contribute to new initiatives and continuous improvement of our programs. The NTT professor should engage in scholarly activities, particularly those relating to engineering education. All faculty are expected to foster a positive and inclusive learning environment to encourage intellectual curiosity and critical thinking in support of the academic and professional growth of our students.

    Candidates should hold a Ph.D. in Chemical or Biochemical Engineering or allied discipline from an accredited program.
