Job Description:
The Department of Chemistry & Biochemistry at Berry College, an ACS and ASBMB-approved program, invites applications for a Teaching and Research Postdoctoral Fellow in the area of organic chemistry to begin in July 2024. The initial appointment is for two years, with the possibility of an extension to a third year.
Primary responsibilities include teaching organic chemistry, and the associated laboratories, and engaging in productive research under the guidance of Dr. Mark Turlington in the area of synthetic organic chemistry. A successful candidate will commit to excellence in teaching and scholarship and possess a strong interest in mentoring students in a residential liberal arts environment. The Postdoctoral Fellow will work closely with their faculty mentor, receiving mentorship in teaching and research in preparation for a future independent academic career, with a special focus on preparing the Postdoctoral Fellow for a faculty position at a primarily undergraduate institution.
