The School of Chemistry and Biochemistry at the Georgia Institute of Technology (Georgia Tech) invites applications for the position of Chair of the School and Professor, with an anticipated starting date of August 1, 2024.The expected rank at appointment is at the level of full professor, however applicants at all tenure-eligible ranks will be considered.
Georgia Tech's School of Chemistry and Biochemistry has 32 research groups, approximately 170 graduate students, and almost 400 undergraduate majors, learning, teaching, and conducting research in a highly enriching environment, with the support of about 20 staff. Other than Caltech's, Georgia Tech's School of Chemistry and Biochemistry is the smallest department ranked in the top 20 nationally. The School is embedded among many biomedical, chemical, materials, and mechanical engineers who conduct and benefit from chemistry and biochemistry research that has led to a tightknit community along with easy access to extraordinary collaborators, facilities, and programs. This close intertwinement with engineering, thus, provides a unique platform to deliver transformative science and chemistry education, and to build internationally leading and highly interdisciplinary research clusters that can lead and not react to science trends.

Additionally, candidates should have an outstanding record as a researcher, educator and mentor, and an accomplished record of effective leadership.
