Professor - Civil Engineering teaches courses in the discipline area of civil engineering. Being a Professor - Civil Engineering provides tutoring and academic counseling to students, maintains classes related records, and assesses student coursework. Collaborates and supports colleagues regarding research interests and co-curricular activities. Additionally, Professor - Civil Engineering typically reports to a department head. Requires a PhD or terminal degree appropriate to the field. Has considerable experience and is qualified to teach at undergraduate and graduate levels and initiates research and case studies in field of interest and may publish findings in trade journals or textbooks. Provides intellectual leadership and has made significant contributions to the field. May offer independent study opportunities and mentoring to students.     $18.26 - $22.26 an hour - Student Worker Senior

    The Minnesota Department of Transportation (MnDOT) Civil Engineering Student Worker Program (CEP) will be hiring Civil and Construction Engineering student workers for the summer of 2024.

    Students will assist and provide support to engineering offices throughout Minnesota with pre-engineering work as assigned and directed by MnDOT hiring supervisors. Gain hands-on professional experience while working on transportation-focused projects this summer. Employment dates are May 13 - Aug. 27, 2024, but can vary based on class schedule. This is a great opportunity to gain experience and potential for career advancement.

    MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

    **The Minnesota Department of Transportation does not sponsor applicants for work visas or Optional Practical Training Extensions for STEM Students. Individuals must be legally authorized to work in the US at the start of employment.

    Applicants must be an undergraduate or graduate student currently pursuing a B.S. or M.S. in civil, construction, environmental, geoengineering, or structural engineering. Students must be taking two or more classes per semester/quarter. Any lesser credit (class) load shall be treated as a semester/quarter off. Priority will be given to students completing their junior year.

    A valid driver’s license is required for most of the positions.
