Collaborates and supports colleagues regarding research interests and co-curricular activities. Additionally, Professor - Communication typically reports to a department head. Requires a PhD or terminal degree appropriate to the field. Has considerable experience and is qualified to teach at undergraduate and graduate levels and initiates research and case studies in field of interest and may publish findings in trade journals or textbooks. Provides intellectual leadership and has made significant contributions to the field. May offer independent study opportunities and mentoring to students.     The Media & Communications Specialist will support the Ted Stevens Center (TSC) for Arctic Security Studies, the newest of six Department of Defense Regional Centers.

    As a Media & Communications Specialist, you will be trusted to develop multi-media products to support TSC courses, other events, and activities, and the TSC website.

    You will work closely with the Government Media Specialist, the Public Affairs Officer, and others in the TSC Strategic Communications team, and regularly interface with TSC leadership, faculty, and staff.

    Requirements

    Active Secret Clearance

    • Minimum two (2) years of experience working as a media, communications and / or graphic design specialist at a news media, think tank, regional center, university, USG agency, or advertisement agency.
    • Minimum one (1) year of experience in media, graphic development, communications, printing, graphic development, publication, and social media usage experience.
    • Minimum one (1) year of experience working with Adobe Illustrator, Adobe InDesign and Adobe Photoshop.

    Preferred Qualifications :

    • Five (5) or more years of graphic design experience, preferably using Adobe Illustrator, InDesign and Photoshop.
    • Three (3) or more years of video editing experience, preferably working in DaVinci Resolve.
    • One (1) or more years of experience recording and editing videos, podcasts, and webinars.
