Provides intellectual leadership and has made significant contributions to the field. May offer independent study opportunities and mentoring to students.     Anne Arundel Gastroenterology Associates (AAGA) is one of the top surgical centers in the country. This role entails working with compassionate, highly skilled providers and their professional support staff to provide efficient, patient-focused care in a private and comfortable setting.

    The Bestgate Road office is located near excellent shopping and dining options and just a few miles from the Naval Academy.

    The office is easily accessible from the 50 and with much to do and see nearby!

    Summary

    The Communications Associate provides patient telephone and medical record support for both the professional office and the surgery center.

    Under the supervision of the Communications Team Lead, the employee will adhere to and comply with the Covenant Code of Conduct, Human Resource Policies and Procedures, Operational Policy and Procedure Manual, HIPAA Compliance, Patient Bill of Rights, and the Corporate Compliance Plan.

    Essential Duties

    • Answers the various phone lines and greets the caller with the name of the practice and the name of the person answering the call.
    • Direct the calls to appropriate department.
    • Schedule appointments and take messages according to company protocol.
    • Provide patients with prep instructions and directions to the office.
    • Answer messages from the patient portal.
    • Assist with appointment reminders.
    • Assist with Recalls.

    About the Candidate

    Minimum Requirements

    • High School Diploma or equivalent.
    • At least one year experience as a Telephone Receptionist.
    • Knowledge of the various insurance’s helpful.
    • Prior knowledge of Microsoft Office, primarily Word and Excel.
    • Experience with Allscripts or similar patient management software preferred.
