Requires a PhD or terminal degree appropriate to the field. Has considerable experience and is qualified to teach at undergraduate and graduate levels and initiates research and case studies in field of interest and may publish findings in trade journals or textbooks. Provides intellectual leadership and has made significant contributions to the field. May offer independent study opportunities and mentoring to students.     PRINCIPLE PURPOSE OF THE JOB:

    The Assistant Professor of Entrepreneurial Marketing is a tenure track position in the School of Business. The position will have a combination of teaching and research responsibilities. The candidate will teach undergraduate and possibly graduate-level courses in marketing and entrepreneurship.

    SCOPE OF RESPONSIBILITY: 

    The successful candidate will teach undergraduate and possibly graduate courses in marketing, serve as an academic advisor, participate in curriculum development, and serve on institutional committees, as well as mentor students in research projects, and other duties as assigned.

    ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS: 

    • Ability to advise and mentor students
    • Recruit students and develop the accounting program
    • Use of Blackboard and online learning pedagogy

    OTHER DUTIES: Performs other related duties as assigned.

    QUALIFICATIONS:

    The successful candidate should have a Ph.D. in a business field with 18 hours of graduate work in marketing/entrepreneurial course work. However, some candidates may be considered that have earned a Master of Business Administration degree with at least 18 hours of graduate work in marketing/entrepreneurial course work. Additional certifications and professional experience in marketing and entrepreneurial training will also be required.

    KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:

    • Experience teaching marketing and entrepreneurship at the college level
    • Excellent computer skills and ability to teach online
    • Ability to work effectively with students from various cultural and socio-economic backgrounds
    • Ability to work effect effectively with supervisors, colleagues, staff, and students as part of an educational team.
    • A strong commitment to diversity
    • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work effectively with a wide range of constituencies in the university setting.

    SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITY: This position will not have supervisory responsibility.

    PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

    • Work is normally performed in a typical interior/office work environment.
    • No or very limited physical effort is required.
    • No or very limited exposure to physical risk.
