    POSITION SUMMARY

    Leader within the OPC C5ISR Test Team, along with C5 Test Manager and all required Production Crafts, Contractors, and ESG Engineering, Purchasing and Program Office, to ensure all tests and validations are fully developed and accomplished on the Offshore Patrol Cutter (OPC) program, in support of schedule, cost and performance requirements.

    ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES: Because Eastern Shipbuilding is continually growing to meet the needs of our customers, the essential duties and responsibilities may be different than described.

    • Regular attendance at work and the ability to work flexible hours, including overtime, weekends, and holidays.
    • Leader within the C5 Engineering and Test Teams in execution of a robust total ship test program including, but not limited to, development of test processes and procedures for Navigation C5ISR areas. Shall develop test reports, to include land based, shipboard (pier side and underway), and Navy INSURV acceptance trials.
    • Shall be able to work as Navigation Test Lead for C5ISR systems, and ability to lead the production team thru the installation check-out, grooming, and operation of assigned systems. Be able to demonstrate proper operation of equipment and systems to USCG and INSURV.
    • Work with Production, QA, and Engineering to ensure 100% corrective actions, within the assigned areas, are completed. Apply all trial cards and deficiencies discovered during tesVQA and work to have them corrected on future platforms.
    • Work with the CS Test Manager to de-conflict competing priorities during all Testing and Activation projects to deliver results within financial and schedule specifications. Support the Hull Test lead in production, test, launch, and trials Readiness Reviews within assigned area.
    • Support the Hull Test lead during Pre and Post Sea Trials meetings within assigned aea.
    • Lead all Production facility testing for assigned hull.
    • Support Hull Test lead in coordinating with Engineering and Project Management to ensure that the shipyard testing strategy is being followed in assigned areas.
    • Primary ESG interface of Navigation C5ISR Primary Systems Integrator contractor activities to ensure on schedule accomplishment of Navigation C51SR integration and test on assigned hull.
    • Perform other duties as assigned.

    SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

    This position has no supervisory responsibilities. Travel is primarily local during the business day, although some out-of-area and overnight travel may be required.

    Job Requirements

    REQUIREMENTS

    Experience: Three more years' experience shipboard testing, developing procedures, performing test validation, verifying pre-requisites, and documentation into deliverable test reports. Must be able to quickly understand basic system operation, and integration with Controls Systems. Must be able to effectively troubleshoot issues and failures.

    • Requires the ability to obtain and maintain a SECRET security clearance.
    • Intermediate level Microsoft Word, Excel, Power Point and Outlook experience.
    • Read and interpret documents such as safety rules, Company policies/procedures, and governmental regulations.
    • Interpret contract requirements, specifications, and drawings into a comprehensive test program.
    • Multi-task and prioritize tasks with strict deadlines.
    • Effectively present information, brief presentations and respond to questions from senior management, employees, government officials and the public.
    • Effective written and verbal communication skills required.
    • Forge and sustain outstanding client-relationships while managing multiple work streams.
    • Multi-task and work in a fast-paced environment and have an attention to detail.
    • Work independently and as part of the project team while exercising diplomacy and tact.
    • Rapidly obtain, sort, filter, and analyze large volumes of data for distillation into high01evel reports.
    • Integrity, flexibility/adaptability, initiative, interpersonal skills, attention to detail and multi-tasking. Maintain the confidential integrity of details pertaining to Eastern Shipbuilding Group.
    • Previous ship construction and test, or USCG/USN Service, with shipboard electrical experience.
    • Experience developing test procedures using ABS NVR.
    • Experience with integration of a test program into Program Integrated Master Schedule (IMS), starting with design through fabrication, construction, and delivery.

    The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.

    This job will operate in multiple environments, including a professional office environment, and Shipboard during the production, outfit, test and delivery phases of each Ship. Employee must be able to work in a ship production environment, including climbing, entering tanks and voids, etc, in all weather conditions. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.

    WORK ENVIRONMENT

    The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job. The employee may be exposed to risk of electrical shock. The noise level in the environment is low to moderate, such as in an office environment.
