POSITION SUMMARY
Capitol Technology University, a nonprofit university located in Laurel, Maryland seeks Adjunct Professors to teach undergraduate and graduate courses in Computer Science.
TEACHING MODE
Ability to deliver courses online is essential and preference will also be given to candidates who are able to deliver on-campus teaching at the university’s Laurel, Maryland campus.
ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS
· Minimum of a Master’s degree in Computer Science or a closely related discipline, from an accredited institution
· Significant university or college-level teaching experience
· Professional experience related to the field of study
· Experience with and willingness to use web-based teaching tools such as Canvas, Zoom, Adobe Connect and other classroom technologies
· Experience teaching introductory and/or advanced courses covering one or more of the following computer science course areas:
o Introductory and/or advanced Java
o Introductory and/or advanced Python
o Introductory and/or advanced C
o Introductory and/or advanced C
o Relational database design and implementation
o Data structures
o Cisco Networking Academy courses and curriculum
o Artificial Intelligence and intelligent systems
o Machine learning and data science
o Deep neural networks and/or TensorFlow or Keras
HIGHLY DESIRABLE
· Availability and ability to teach on-campus in Laurel, MD
LIST OF ESSENTIAL DUTIES
· Manages and facilitates class activities and adheres to and meets all established university policies
· Delivers to a high standard of quality the course content and assessments as set out in the course syllabus
· Submits final grades no later than 48 hours after the conclusion of their last day of class; remains available to students during the week following the posting of final grades
· Participates in student learning outcomes assessment related to the adjunct's teaching assignment as directed by the Chair of Computer Science
· Adheres to all established university absence and attendance policies, guidelines and requirements
· Completes related duties as assigned
