Professor - Dentistry teaches courses in the discipline area of dentistry. Develops and designs curriculum plans to foster student learning, stimulate class discussions, and ensures student engagement. Being a Professor - Dentistry provides tutoring and academic counseling to students, maintains classes related records, and assesses student coursework. Collaborates and supports colleagues regarding research interests and co-curricular activities. Additionally, Professor - Dentistry typically reports to a department head. Requires a PhD or terminal degree appropriate to the field. Has considerable experience and is qualified to teach at undergraduate and graduate levels and initiates research and case studies in field of interest and may publish findings in trade journals or textbooks. Provides intellectual leadership and has made significant contributions to the field. May offer independent study opportunities and mentoring to students.     Position Summary:
    The primary responsibility, as a Professor of Practice, is to teach 12 credits each semester of undergraduate and/or graduate courses in the Department of Mathematical Sciences. Teach courses in Actuarial Science, Statistics and Probability, Mathematics of Finance and others as assigned by the Department Chair. Advise students and participate in course and program development as required. Participate in student events and external outreach activities, as required. Provide service to the department, university and community, as required. Must abide by the university 's core values which include excellence, integrity, civility, social responsibility, diversity and communication.

    Essential Functions:
    Teach undergraduate and graduate courses particularly in Actuarial Science, Financial Mathematics, and Probability and Statistics.

    Prerequisite Qualifications:
    - An individual with expertise in Actuarial Science and an interest and ability to support the Mathematics of Finance and Actuarial Science concentration of the B.S. in Mathematical Sciences is strongly preferred.
    - Degree in Actuarial Science, Statistics, or related field.
    - Successful completion of SOA and CAS exams is preferred.
    - At the university's discretion the education and experience prerequisites may be excepted where the candidate can demonstrate to the satisfaction of the university an equivalent combination of education and experience specifically preparing the candidate for success in the position.
