Professor - Dentistry teaches courses in the discipline area of dentistry. Develops and designs curriculum plans to foster student learning, stimulate class discussions, and ensures student engagement. Being a Professor - Dentistry provides tutoring and academic counseling to students, maintains classes related records, and assesses student coursework. Collaborates and supports colleagues regarding research interests and co-curricular activities. Additionally, Professor - Dentistry typically reports to a department head. Requires a PhD or terminal degree appropriate to the field. Has considerable experience and is qualified to teach at undergraduate and graduate levels and initiates research and case studies in field of interest and may publish findings in trade journals or textbooks. Provides intellectual leadership and has made significant contributions to the field. May offer independent study opportunities and mentoring to students. Assistant/Associate Professor of General Dentistry

    Creighton University School of Dentistry is seeking a motivated individual to support the didactic and clinical curricula of the school including patient services through the School’s pre-doctoral clinic model.

    The 12-month position will work with a team of dedicated faculty who are building on a rich legacy of excellence in dental education and expanding our capacity as a national resource in the dental profession. Responsibilities include supporting the delivery of the curriculum notably in the preclinical courses and labs in addition to the clinic. 

    Primary appointment will be in the Department of General Dentistry.

    Qualified candidates must have: a DDS or DMD degree or, an equivalent degree from an international program along with completion of an ADA accredited clinical specialty program and successful completion of Part I and Part II of the National Board Dental Examination, prior to the date of hire.  

    Preferred qualifications include:  a master’s degree or certificate in Operative Dentistry or Dental Materials; or certificate from an advanced General Dentistry program; or a multi-year general dentistry commitment as part of military service for the purpose of joining existing faculty in dental materials research and advanced restorative techniques, which may include digital dentistry applications. 

    Candidates must also possess strong organizational and communication skills with a demonstrated ability to work collaboratively in a collegial, interdisciplinary environment.

    Candidates must possess: an unrestricted Nebraska Dental License or be eligible to obtain an unrestricted Nebraska Dental License and acquire credentialing from applicable third-party payer systems. 

    General dentists are encouraged to apply.  This is a Clinician Educator, tenure-track position.
