  • A.T. Still University's Missouri School of Dentistry & Oral Health (ATSU-MOSDOH) is seeking exempt Clinical General Dentistry Faculty at the St. Louis Dental Center. The position reports to the Director of Clinical Faculty and is responsible for supervising MOSDOH students in the Comprehensive Care Unit (CCU) to provide care to their patient family.

    Major Job Duties

    • Supervise students in the comprehensive care unit to provide comprehensive care to their patient family
    • Maintain Standards of Care and ensure continuity of care for all patients in the CCU
    • Participate in clinic quality assurance and continuous quality improvement measures
    • Work on the clinic floor 4-5 days per week, depending on faculty practice day
    • Assist the staff, faculty, and administration in St. Louis and Kirksville to train adjunct faculty to achieve clinical calibration.
    • Work with the dental assistant(s) and Patient Service Advocates and contribute to performance review evaluations in conjunction with the Vice Dean of Clinical Affairs and Advanced Dental Education
    • Coordinate with the Director of Clinical Faculty for staff leave (vacation, medical) and clinic floor coverage
    • Complete administrative reports as needed and all ATSU-required employee training (RET)
    • Track student progress and collaborate with CCU Directors, Specialty Care Directors, and the Vice Dean of Clinical Affairs and Advanced Dental Education on student deficiencies
    • Assure patient, student, and staff safety and communication
    • Perform dental procedures on patients as needed
    • Serve on committees as assigned
    • Support/participate in an after-hours emergency care program as needed
    • Perform additional duties as assigned by the Vice Dean of Clinical Affairs and Advanced Dental Education

    Skills and Requirements

    • D.D.S. or D.M.D. degree
    • Must have teaching experience
    • Must have knowledge of dental practice operations
    • Must be highly skilled in general dentistry
    • Adaptable and motivated
    • Able to work independently

    • Personable
