Develops and designs curriculum plans to foster student learning, stimulate class discussions, and ensures student engagement. Being a Professor - Drama provides tutoring and academic counseling to students, maintains classes related records, and assesses student coursework. Collaborates and supports colleagues regarding research interests and co-curricular activities. Additionally, Professor - Drama typically reports to a department head. Requires a PhD or terminal degree appropriate to the field. Has considerable experience and is qualified to teach at undergraduate and graduate levels and initiates research and case studies in field of interest and may publish findings in trade journals or textbooks. Provides intellectual leadership and has made significant contributions to the field. May offer independent study opportunities and mentoring to students.   • Msgr. Edward Pace High School in Miami Gardens, Florida seeks to hire a full-time Drama Teacher for the 2024-25 school year. The Drama Teacher will be expected to plan, organize, and implement an appropriate instructional program for High School Drama/Theater instruction. This candidate performs all duties and responsibilities in alignment with the mission, vision, and values of the Catholic Archdiocese of Miami. Salary will vary based on certification and years of experience.

    Qualifications:

    • Required: Bachelor’s degree in Fine Arts or related field.
    • Florida Department of Education (FDOE) Professional Educator Certificate in Drama or related field, Grades 9-12 preferred.
    • Strong presentation knowledge and skills with use of instructional technology, including iPads and proficiency in MS Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
    • Demonstrate ability to engage students through project-based learning.
    • Excellent classroom management skills.
    • Effective oral and written English language communication skills, including clear speaking voice.
    • Good spelling and grammar required.
    • Practicing Catholic in good standing who fully adheres to and models the Roman Catholic Church teachings in faith and moral; Experience in a Roman Catholic environment preferred.
    • Knowledge of the basic tenets of the Roman Catholic Church.
    • Must have a professional demeanor.
