Professor - Economics teaches courses in the discipline area of economics. Develops and designs curriculum plans to foster student learning, stimulate class discussions, and ensures student engagement. Being a Professor - Economics provides tutoring and academic counseling to students, maintains classes related records, and assesses student coursework. Collaborates and supports colleagues regarding research interests and co-curricular activities. Additionally, Professor - Economics typically reports to a department head. Requires a PhD or terminal degree appropriate to the field. Has considerable experience and is qualified to teach at undergraduate and graduate levels and initiates research and case studies in field of interest and may publish findings in trade journals or textbooks. Provides intellectual leadership and has made significant contributions to the field. May offer independent study opportunities and mentoring to students.     COMPENSATION: 
    Salary:  $833.33 per credit course taught

    Estimated Hours per Week:  3 - 9  

    Dates/Times -  Day, night and weekend classes; various times available

    • Master's degree in economics or master's degree and 18 graduate semester hours in economics.
    Preferred Qualifications: 
    • Teaching experience.
    Adjunct Faculty members are responsible for teaching courses as assigned.   Adjunct Faculty may teach in the evening, weekends, online and dual enrollment courses as needed.  Adjunct Faculty are expected to support the institution's mission and vision and abide by the Faculty Handbook and college-wide policies.   Adjunct Faculty are expected to maintain currency in their teaching discipline Adjunct Faculty report directly to the academic program manager and/or department chair within their respective departments and divisions.
