    Touro University's Lander College for Men is looking for an Assistant Professor of Chemistry. Appointment at the Associate level will be considered.

    Responsibilities

    The successful candidate will have earned a PhD in Chemistry or related field. They will be expected to teach Organic Chemistry 1 and 2 (lecture and lab) and Biochemistry. The ability to teach General Chemistry 1 and 2 (lecture and lab) is a plus, and special attention will be given for candidates comfortable with teaching College Physics 1 and 2. The successful candidate will also have the opportunity to teach advanced classes in their field of expertise contingent on student demand. The candidate will have to show evidence of a successful research program involving undergraduate students. ]The candidate will also be deeply involved in student advisement, mainly pertaining to the medical and health-related fields.The candidate will be expected to participate in campus- and college-wide service.The position of Deputy Chair will be considered for the appropriate candidate.

    Qualifications

    Experience/Education

    • Doctor of Philosophy in Chemistry or Biochemistry Required.
    • A proven track record of publications, presentations and research involving undergraduates.
    • Management experience is required for this position.

    Skills/Knowledge/Abilities

    • Demonstrated ability to develop positive and cooperative relationships with students, faculty and colleagues. 
    • Familiarity in online learning platforms including Banner, Canvas, Blackboard, Adobe Connect.
    • A high degree of interpersonal competency:professionalism, diplomacy, judgement and discretion.

    TravelThe main teaching location is our centrally located Queens campus. The candidate will be expected to teach at one of our other three undergraduate campuses in the greater New York area.

    USD $90,000.00/Yr.

    Minimum Salary

    USD $72,000.00/Yr.
