Professor - Economics teaches courses in the discipline area of economics. Develops and designs curriculum plans to foster student learning, stimulate class discussions, and ensures student engagement. Being a Professor - Economics provides tutoring and academic counseling to students, maintains classes related records, and assesses student coursework. Collaborates and supports colleagues regarding research interests and co-curricular activities. Additionally, Professor - Economics typically reports to a department head. Requires a PhD or terminal degree appropriate to the field. Has considerable experience and is qualified to teach at undergraduate and graduate levels and initiates research and case studies in field of interest and may publish findings in trade journals or textbooks. Provides intellectual leadership and has made significant contributions to the field. May offer independent study opportunities and mentoring to students.     Conduct one-on-one or small-group tutoring sessions.

    Days/Hours Needed
    TBD based on tutor and student availability. Maximum of two hours worked per week unless the demand for tutoring gets higher.

    Campus Location/Bldg.
    Location varies. We set each tutor up in their own space within one of the office suites in the Economics Department in Moffett Center. Administrative Assistant sets up the spaces.

    Required Qualifications
    Must be a current SUNY Cortland student, have taken and received a grade of B or higher in the course(s), AND be recommended by the instructor. Students who are not recommended by the instructor are NOT considered.

    None. If anything is too demanding for some reason we can ALWAYS alter the task to be less demanding or not demanding at all.

    Special Conditions for Eligibility
    Must be recommended by the Professor of the course the applicant wants to tutor. Applicants who are not recommended by the Professor of the course will NOT be considered.
