Requirements:
– Michigan teaching certificate in Learning Disabilities (SM); Cognitive
Impairment (SA); or Emotional Impairment (SE)
– Must meet Highly Qualified status
– Willingness to support students in a resource lab setting
– Willingness to support students in a self-contained setting
Preferences:
– Knowledge or the ability to utilize technology to instructional structure
– Ability to work with a diverse racial and cultural student population
– Understanding of current instructional strategies, including Differentiated
Instruction, MTSS, along with providing accommodations and modifications
to the general education curriculum
– Knowledge of data disaggregation and application to targeted assistance
for general education students
– Knowledge of RTI and supporting interventions
– Experience with the IEP process is highly desirable
– Demonstrated competence as an educator.
– Familiar with providing direct explicit instruction in deficit areas
– Strong interpersonal skills, highly motivated, action-orientated
– Works well in a collaborative environment
