    Position Description:
    This Program Specialist is responsible for engaging long-term care workers in Skilled Nursing Facilities in educational benefits, conducting career and educational counseling, collaborating with union and employer partners to determine workforce development needs, promoting and recruiting for classes, and providing expert knowledge about educational providers and programs in the community.


    This position also requires the individual to become a certified CPR instructor under the American Heart Association and will include facilitation of online and in-person curriculum as appropriate and required.


    This is a hybrid remote position that requires remote work from home with regular travel within an assigned territory in Pennsylvania.

    • Salary: $45,000 - $48,000 per year

    Specific Responsibilities:

    • Build strong, positive, relationships with workers, managers, and union leaders at participating workplaces.
    • Represent our Fund’s programs, mission, and values accurately and professionally.
    • Visit participating workplaces regularly to promote our Fund’s programs.
    • Recruit for courses through phone, email, and text messaging tools.
    • Provide basic career and educational coaching remotely and in-person as needed.
    • Organize, plan, schedule, and facilitate programs to support the needs of the participants.
    • Facilitate workshops as assigned both virtually through Zoom or other platforms and in person.
    • Input accurate and timely notes and other required data into Salesforce database.
    • Develop expert knowledge of educational institutions and programs within the assigned territory.


    Essential Skills/Attributes/Requirements:

    • Minimum of 3 years of experience working in adult education, health care education, career counseling, or leadership development.
    • Excellent facilitation and coaching skills
    • Professional and engaging interpersonal written and oral communication skills
    • Excellent computer and record-keeping skills
    • Self-directed and able to work independently
    • Ability to be flexible and adaptable to changing programs and environments
    • Experience working in a union environment preferred
    • A driver's license and fully-insured car; ability to travel regularly within a specific geographic area.  Some overnight travel is required, 3 – 4 times annually
    • Willingness and ability to become a certified Instructor for CPR, Non-violent Crisis Intervention, or Mental Health First Aid certificate courses.
    • Being bilingual is a plus!


    Educational Requirements:

    Bachelor’s Degree in Adult Education, Social Work, a Health Care Career OR equivalent demonstrated knowledge and work experience.
