    Job Summary

    The Project Engineer, Electrical will coordinate and manage engineering work on projects of varying sizes with oversight by an experienced engineer as appropriate, based on complexity and relevant project experience.

     

    Duties and Responsibilities

    • Adopt a positive attitude of accountability by providing reliable, constructable, affordable, and timely solutions (RCAT) resulting in Providence being the Engineer of Choice
    • Oversee design engineers with project manager oversight to ensure projects are prepared on time and in accordance with code and client requirements
    • Ensure the engineering and financial success of assigned projects
    • Contribute to the development of engineering plans and designs with project manager supervision
    • Meet schedule and budget-hour estimates as developed by own proposal preparation and/or as provided by project manager
    • Perform full designs on projects of varying size with appropriate oversight by an experienced engineer
    • Seal reports and drawings for project work after quality control review
    • Prepare redline drawing markups for drafting department implementation and ensure accuracy of the completed drawings in comparison to the intent of redline markups
    • Prepare calculations and drawings consistent with established standards for quality control submissions
    • Discuss design intent with project manager/director of design prior to design work to ensure efficient performance and quality assurance in electrical distribution system and lighting design for assigned projects.
    • Provide hours estimates for large project proposals for use by project manager
    • Prepare project proposals for small and mid-sized projects for review and approval by project manager
    • Submit prime and subconsultant contract agreements, purchase order terms and conditions, lien waivers, and non-disclosure agreements to the contracts team for legal and insurance review and negotiation
    • Interact directly with external clients to develop relationships and work on projects secured by own proposals
    • Attend design meetings, construction meetings, and site visits on own with direction from experienced engineer, as needed
    • Comply with company policies and procedures
    • Participate in continuing education webinars and education sessions and maintain required professional development hours for state license(s)
    • Participate in networking and business development opportunities
    • Perform other related duties as assigned
