Position Summary

The Engineering Intern/Co-op is responsible for assisting the Dexter Team with engineering project identification, project support, and project leadership as assigned by partnering and collaborating with the Engineering Team and Site Team.

More specifically, this position will be responsible for activities including but not limited to the following:

• Project definition, scoping and documented project plan• Continuous improvement• Capital projects• Safety improvements• Automation• Debottlenecking and capacity utilization• Time studies• Ergonomic studies and improvements• Troubleshooting equipment and processes• Plant layout• Project estimation• Material handling• Create documents, drawings, training as needed to support and complete project(s)• Perform other duties as assigned

Requirements

To be successful in this role, you must pocess the following:

• Excellent sense of ethics and accountability• Enthusiasm and a passion for engineering and manufacturing• Dependable, responsible, on time, and consistent• Ability to maintain professionalism in all settings• Possess strict confidentiality of company patent, trademark, and business information• Strong organizational and time management • Problem-solving and trouble-shooting skills• Solid understanding of engineering fundamentals commensurate with year of studies• Ability to adapt to frequent priorities and changes within the team and the business• Strong safety orientation and commitment• Curiosity

In addition, you must be actively enrolled an accredited university working towards a bachelors or masters degree in Electrical, Mechanical, Industrial, Safety, or related engineering degree.
