    Description

    JOB TITLE: ENGINEERING / AUTOMATION TECHNICIAN (INDUSTRIAL)

    SCOPE OF WORK:

    Work will consist of assistance with engineering/automation offerings through AEES Engineering & Automation Division. Work includes (but not limited to) installation, modification, repairs/additions of electrical control systems and associated materials and equipment within the manufacturing industry. Technician will also contribute to technical support (alongside Engineering & Automation team) for customers and internal personnel.

    Description

    1. Technician to perform safe, cost-effective service to our customers with superior workmanship.
    2. Technician reports directly to the Engineering and Automation Division Lead.
    3. Communicates clearly with the Engineering and Automation Division Lead and other employees.
    4. Manages paperwork efficiently and accurately (including T&M tickets/reporting/job quotations).
    5. Mentors/provides technical resource to fellow employees and customers.
    6. Plans work/jobs effectively with high quality result - responsible for: materials, tools, successful job outcomes.
    7. Maintains good customer relations and represent themselves and AEES professionally on/off the jobsite.
    8. Maintain knowledge of electrical equipment and major tools associated.
    9. Understands scope of drawings and demonstrate ability to supervise others in work performance (able to work from plans and specifications, supervise small crews.).

    TECHNICAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

    1. Ability to read and understand electrical schematics.
    2. Understanding of the principles of electricity.
    3. Knowledge of the operation of electric motors.
    4. Understanding of the operation of PLC's and able to troubleshoot on various types of PLC's.
    5. Knowledge in maintaining and troubleshooting instrumentation (flow meters, pressure transducers, control valves and other analog devices)
    6. Industrial electrical hands-on experience and troubleshooting, including 480V 3-phase, 110 VAC, and 24VDC systems.
    7. Proficiency in the operation of DC drives, AC drives, and servo motion controllers. (With ability to install/program/commission)
    8. Ability to troubleshoot/learn customer specific equipment with limited previous exposure.
    9. Ability to study/understand equipment manuals with limited outside assistance.
    10. Ability to repair plant equipment with limited outside assistance.
    11. Technical competency to perform after hours calls with limited outside assistance.
    12. Proficient in utilizing Microsoft Office Suite.
    13. Experience compiling technical reports for end customer or management.

    Qualifications


    Responsibilities

    • Positively identify colors of wires.
    • Ideal technician possessed ability to be a "self-starter" who is able to work independently day to day
    • Operates two (2) handed tools/equipment, cable cutters, hammer drills, compression tools, jack hammers, power tools, saws, etc.
    • Practices and comprehends safe work procedures as outlined in Company Safety Policy Handbook, Haz Com Policy, and Lockout/Tagout Policy.

    Working Conditions

    • Mostly outdoor year-around in varying weather conditions and temperatures.
    • Able to work 8 to 10 hours per day, 40 hours per week, overtime as required and night shifts.
    • Must be able to bend, stoop, squat, crawl, climb, kneel, balance, push, pull and reach overhead.
    • Lift 50 pounds.
