    Job Description

    The Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering at the Missouri University of Science and Technology (Missouri S&T) in Rolla, Missouri is seeking outstanding applicants for a non-tenure-track (NTT) teaching faculty position at the assistant professor rank. NTT teaching faculty members contribute to the core activity of teaching and are fully engaged in the department's curriculum development and delivery. The successful candidate will provide high-quality teaching at the undergraduate level including linear systems courses at the sophomore level and communications or control courses at the junior, senior, and graduate level according to departmental needs.

    Applicants must possess a Ph.D. in Electrical or Computer Engineering or a closely related field. Successful prior teaching experience is an important consideration. Typical workload for NTT teaching faculty is 4 (3 credit hour) courses per semester (i.e., 4-4 for the academic year). Teaching assignments and teaching loads will be adjusted for large class size, courses with multiple sections, supervisory responsibilities for courses with multiple sections, laboratory supervisory responsibilities, or professional and service activities related to the teaching assignment. It is expected that teaching assignments will be a minimum of 75% of the workload of an NTT teaching faculty position.

    The Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering is among the largest departments on campus. The department has 26 internationally recognized tenured/tenure-track faculty, 5 teaching faculty, 8 staff members, about 400 undergraduate students, and about 100 graduate students.
