Busy immigration law office in Mount Vernon, WA, is looking for a bilingual (English/Spanish) legal assistant to join our team. We are looking for a hardworking candidate with a college degree or equivalent years of experience, excellent oral and written communication skills, exceptional organizational abilities, self-starter, team player, reliable attendance, who can work well under pressure, and who enjoys working with the immigrant community. Prior legal or immigration experience is a plus but not required.
Job responsibilities will be assigned based on the applicant’s qualifications and include answering phones, scanning and recording documents and correspondence, scheduling clients and prospective clients for meetings with attorneys and staff, translating documents, interpreting during client interviews, and some clerical work. Additional duties to be added with training include the preparation of forms, cover letters, declarations, and pleadings.
Salary: DOE but minimum starting pay $20/hour.
