Lyon College invites applications for a tenure-track Assistant Professor of English
beginning in August 2024. All candidates should have their terminal degree. The
English department seeks an energetic generalist who will teach primarily
composition and world literature courses in the College’s general education
program, as well as specialty courses within the major in fields such as creative
writing, environmental literature, or literature and science. Additional
responsibilities will include academic advising and service on college committees
beginning in the second year. Candidates should demonstrate an understanding
of philosophies of liberal learning as well as the distinctive nature of teaching at a
small liberal arts college. Salary is commensurate with experience and
qualifications.
