Being a Professor - Foreign Languages provides tutoring and academic counseling to students, maintains classes related records, and assesses student coursework. Collaborates and supports colleagues regarding research interests and co-curricular activities. Additionally, Professor - Foreign Languages typically reports to a department head. Requires a PhD or terminal degree appropriate to the field. Has considerable experience and is qualified to teach at undergraduate and graduate levels and initiates research and case studies in field of interest and may publish findings in trade journals or textbooks. Provides intellectual leadership and has made significant contributions to the field. May offer independent study opportunities and mentoring to students.     Desired Qualifications:

    -Must be native in the target language.

    -Must be bi-cultural in addition to being bilingual.

    -Minimum 1 year of experience in providing consecutive and simultaneous interpretation

    -Able to communicate properly and efficiently with second/third parties.

    -Able to offer accurate and complete rendition of dialogues in both English and the target language


    Preferred Candidates will possess:

    -Degree in interpreting or translation

    -Knowledge in technical domains such as mining, geology, geophysics, and environmental engineering

    -Certifications for interpretation (CCHI, NBCMI, Court Certification, ATA Certification, ALTA, RID, etc.)
