Foreign Exchange Area Coordinator

Earn and work on your schedule! This position has flexible hours and is home-based. Area Coordinators are paid as independent contractors, so you decide how much you earn and when you work. This job is ideal for people with a strong interest in education, international and cultural exchange, and are very active in their local community. You will work within your local and regional area by maintaining contact with volunteer host families, local high schools, and exchange students.
Duties & Responsibilities
● Being a good listener.
● Recruits, screens, and supports volunteer host families that want to host an international exchange student.
● Develops relationships with local high schools to enroll international exchange students.
● Completes monthly contact by phone, email, or in person with international exchange students, host families, and high schools where exchange students are enrolled.
● Introduces international exchange students to local community volunteering options.
● Communicate with the AC Director to support exchange students and host families as needed.
● Travels locally to meet with volunteer host families, international exchange students, and local high schools.
Compensation, Incentives, & Training
● Receive pay for each student/host family placement and for monthly supervision of each student.
● Obtain certification by the U.S. Department of State (CATW provides all training and will help you obtain certification).
● Supportive guidance on how to recruit host families, build relationships with local high schools and address questions from international exchange students.
● 24/7 support and quick response from the CATW Area Coordinator Director and Administrative staff.
Minimum Requirements
● Knowledgeable of and VERY active within your local community.
● High school diploma, GED, or a significant amount of customer service experience.
● Driver’s license not required, but must have reliable transportation options to perform aforementioned duties.
● Have phone, email, and access to a computer and internet.
● Possess an interest in culture and education.
● Friendly with a positive attitude. Excellent customer service skills.
● Able to pass a background check.
● Previous experience as a Coordinator or in Customer Service is helpful but not required.
● Experience in sales or marketing is a plus.
