Provides intellectual leadership and has made significant contributions to the field. May offer independent study opportunities and mentoring to students.   • Falmouth High School is seeking a dynamic and innovative full-time World Languages teacher starting in the 2024-25 academic year. This individual will teach five sections of student-centered classes across our offerings in the World Languages department. We seek a teacher of Spanish who may also have the credentials to teach Latin* and/or French* (but these* are not a requirement for application). The key attribute of our candidate is that they are a clear and effective communicator who have a deep understanding of and appreciation for world languages and cultures.

    Other full-time faculty responsibilities include serving as an advisor, supporting independent student learning initiatives, and taking an active role in the school community in support of student learning and wellness. Falmouth teachers are expected to engage in ongoing professional learning, authentic collaboration with other faculty and staff, and regular goal-setting and reflection. The ideal candidate: is passionate about teaching languages and associated cultureshas genuine concern for students academic growth and character development has a strong educational background and teaching experience in Spanish plus Latin or Frenchhas a demonstrated history of employing innovative pedagogies that are grounded in strong understanding of adolescent development and learning theorypossesses the ability to differentiate instruction and help students master the subject matter despite different skill levels or agesconfidently integrates technology to advance education in the classroom prioritizes positive collegial interactions and collaborative relationships with other teachers possesses excellent communication and organizational skillsis culturally competent and supports diverse learnersMust hold (or be eligible to hold) the required certification(s): 440 for Spanish language and/or 420 French, 410 Latin Falmouth High School is located on a 100-acre district K-12 campus in Falmouth Maine, a coastal community bordering the city of Portland. Our campus features extensive fields, trails, gardens, and rich opportunities for collaboration between schools.
