  • Edgewater is seeking qualified candidates for Geological Technician opportunity for our customer in Carlsbad, NM to support the WIPP Facility.


    Geo-Technician I

    Education: Bachelor of Science in Geology or Geological Engineering.


    Geo-Technician II

    Education: Master’s Degree in Geology or Geological Engineering with a minimum of three years in the mining industry; teaching geological mapping/developing geological maps or a Ph. D. in Geology or Geological Engineering.


    Responsibilities:

    Geotechnical personnel hired for this position will provide support for the detailed geologic mapping.

    • Coordinate mapping activities with other members of the mapping team, produce accurate maps of the geological features encountered.
    • Knowledge of sedimentary, diagenetic and post depositional alteration features.
    • Participate and contribute to the development of published reports and manuscripts documenting the geology of excavation projects.
    • Collect and manage rock samples, take and catalog photographs from excavation projects, and manage quality control and record keeping activities.
    • Ability to work various shifts.
