Professor - History teaches courses in the discipline area of history. Develops and designs curriculum plans to foster student learning, stimulate class discussions, and ensures student engagement. Being a Professor - History provides tutoring and academic counseling to students, maintains classes related records, and assesses student coursework. Collaborates and supports colleagues regarding research interests and co-curricular activities. Additionally, Professor - History typically reports to a department head. Requires a PhD or terminal degree appropriate to the field. Has considerable experience and is qualified to teach at undergraduate and graduate levels and initiates research and case studies in field of interest and may publish findings in trade journals or textbooks. Provides intellectual leadership and has made significant contributions to the field. May offer independent study opportunities and mentoring to students. Adjunct Faculty for History

  • Nebraska Wesleyan University is seeking applicants to fill an adjunct teaching position for the upcoming Fall 2024 academic term. Applicants will be considered with expertise in Indigenous History and/or U.S. History. The candidate would be responsible for in-person instruction of a 4-credit class.

    Qualifications:

    • A master's or doctoral degree in History, and ability to teach Indigenous History or U.S. History
    • Familiarity with Canvas course technology or similar LMS software is a plus
    • Demonstrated interpersonal and innovative teaching skills are required
    • Ability to work independently and collaboratively with faculty and students is essential
    • Strong commitment to student-centered active learning and student engagement activities
    • Appreciation for a liberal arts tradition is desirable
