Overview:
We are a small privately owned company that has been in business since 1979. We are looking for the right person who will learn our entire paint process and eventually move into the team lead position. This is a full-time position with competitive pay.
Duties:
- Prepare surfaces for painting by removing welding slag with a hammer and chisel, filling impressions with putty, running brake lines, covering studs and hubs, spraying off trailers, and priming
- Mix paint (black and custom colors) using electronic scales
- Apply automotive paint (or bed liner material) with spray guns
- Ensure proper coverage and smooth finish - perform repairs as necessary
- Promote a safe work environment by exhibiting safe working habits
- Maintain paint booths (filters, stacks, lights, sprinklers) and spray guns
- Organize flow of trailers to meet production schedule
-Perform housekeeping duties including sweeping and trash removal
- Put supplies and materials away. Assist with inventory
Skills:
- 2 years spray gun experience with automotive paint preferred
- Knowledge of auto body repair techniques
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds repetitively, bend, stoop, kneel, stand - must be agile and able to move about easily
-Knowledge of surface preparation to ensure proper adhesion
- Ability to read and interpret work orders. Attention to detail.
- Mechanical knowledge for troubleshooting and maintenance of painting equipment
- Quality minded and strives to obtain perfection
- Willingness to learn new skills and concepts and to perform other assigned duties as needed
- Works well independently, as well as with a team
- Possess a strong work ethic and has the ability to complete assigned tasks in a timely manner
- Proven Leadership abilities - responsible and conscientious
