Assigned Attorney

Summary/Objective
The Law Clerk is responsible for providing general support to assigned attorneys and law firm operations.

Essential Functions.

1. Researching assigned issues.
2. Briefing attorneys on research conducted.
3. Performing other legal functions under the supervision of a duly licensed attorney, as may be allowed from jurisdiction to jurisdiction.

Competencies

1. Working knowledge of civil litigation procedure.
2. Ability to utilize software programs to research and gather information with respect to assigned tasks.
3. Ability to articulate results of research and brief same to attorneys.
4. Ability to utilize in house programs for communication with both internal and external customers.

Supervisory Responsibility
None

Work Environment
This job operates in a close working environment where discussion and teamwork are required. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines.

Travel
No travel is expected for this position.

Required Education and Experience

1. Current law school student.

Preferred Education and Experience

1. Law firm experience.
2. Court experience.
3. Consumer Finance Industry.
4. Investigations/process servicing.
