Being a Professor - Law provides tutoring and academic counseling to students, maintains classes related records, and assesses student coursework. Collaborates and supports colleagues regarding research interests and co-curricular activities. Additionally, Professor - Law typically reports to a department head. Requires a PhD or terminal degree appropriate to the field. Has considerable experience and is qualified to teach at undergraduate and graduate levels and initiates research and case studies in field of interest and may publish findings in trade journals or textbooks. Provides intellectual leadership and has made significant contributions to the field. May offer independent study opportunities and mentoring to students. Tenure Track/Tenured Professor of Law Positions

  • Position Summary:

    The Benjamin N. Cardozo of Law is looking for entry-level and lateral candidates to fill up to three full-time tenure track or tenured faculty positions with an expected start date of July 1, 2024. We have particularly strong interests this year in constitutional law, torts, intellectual property and technology, employment law, and courses that center race and the law.

    Position Responsibilities:

    Professors of Law are expected to produce high quality published legal scholarship in the form of articles and books, participate in scholarly discourse through conferences and talks, and contribute to the advancement of their respective fields. Professors of Law teach a standard credit load, determined by the Dean, in the Law School. They serve on faculty committees, as journal advisors, and in other capacities to participate in the governance of the institution. Professors may also serve the broader legal profession through service on bar committees, testimony before government and legislative bodies relating to their legal scholarship, and other mechanisms.

    Experience & Educational Background:

    Professors of Law must hold a JD or Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral-level degree in law.

    Cardozo Law is interested in lateral candidates who have demonstrated a commitment to excellence by providing leadership in teaching, research, and service. We are interested in entry-level candidates who can demonstrate a strong potential for excellence in teaching, research, and service.     Salary Range:

    $160,000-$260,000. Salary offered will be commensurate with rank and experience/qualifications.
